Big Adventures in Peril!

Since its beginnings back in 1997, Big Adventures has been producing high quality entertainment for all ages across Derbyshire and the UK. Through our popular Summer Schools, full scale theatre productions, Murder Mysteries, bespoke drama projects and youth and community theatre companies, we have worked with tens of thousands of performers over the years.

But....

2020 has seen vast changes hit the arts and entertainment industry and like so many freelance arts workers, we have never experienced a more devastating time.

Since March this year;

We have seen all our Murder Mystery bookings across the country cancelled.

We have had to abandon both our annual Summer School and a planned large scale education project with Derbyshire Police

We have lost our venue and office space due to Covid restrictions

Sadly, we lost one of our patrons Tim Brooke-Taylor to the virus earlier this year.

Our adventures over the years have been led by our passion for performance

rather than a need to make profits and we are one of the few local arts organisations

who have remained self sufficient, never asking for or expecting public funding.

However, we have reached a point where it is almost impossible for us to

operate without support. We continue to investigate government support packages and frustratingly continue to slip through the net!

To help keep Big Adventures going, we are asking you to help us by becoming a friend of the company. This entails making a recommended one off donation of £25 to Big Adventures. Your donation will go directly towards supporting the running of the company and enable us to set up new projects in 2021 (hopefully!)

In return:

We will send you a quarterly newsletter about our projects, updates and plans (although this may be a little sparse for a while!)

We will offer priority information on events and productions

We will send details of auditions and performance opportunities when they arise

Discounted fees for both Summer School and Youth Theatre bookings

We will give you a huge hug of thanks, just as soon as we are allowed!

Big Adventures has worked with so many people across Derbyshire and beyond and made great friends and loyal supporters along the way. We really want to keep the adventures coming and hope that we can rely on your generosity at this difficult time.

So if you are feeling philanthropic and wish to do your bit for local arts and support your friends at Big Adventures, here’s how you can help:

..................................................................................................................

Become a Friend of Big Adventures  - With a one off payment  of £25

(You might consider renewing this friendship by setting up a standing order to turn this payment into an annual donation)

Help in kind -   We currently have no home, so if you or anyone you know can point us in the direction of suitable, low cost office, rehearsal space (and in particular, storage space)  we would be hugely grateful.

Payment can be made directly to Big Adventures using the following details.
